Role Overview
Prep Cooks prepare and organize products needed by line cooks in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
The role emphasizes food safety, product handling, organization, and responsiveness to changing business needs.
Prep Cook Responsibilities
- Follow all food safety guidelines.
- Receive truck deliveries, check in products, and inspect them for damage or missing goods.
- Date, rotate, and store received products on the day of delivery.
- Pull daily data for preparation needs covering a 48-hour period.
- Prepare products according to Domino's standards.
- Proof dough for 24 hours, then date and re-cool it.
- Maintain proper product temperatures while preparing food.
- Check the temperatures of all refrigeration units.
- Date products according to Domino's standards.
- Prepare cooking items, including sandwich mats and papered pans.
- Maintain sanitation in preparation areas and anywhere food may be exposed.
- Restock dipping cups, soda machines, and boxes, and report safety hazards or maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Minimal work experience is required; one year of restaurant experience is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills are required.
