A day in the life of a Precision Machine Operator includes operating machine tools including, but not limited to, manual or CNC machine tools and ancillary equipment to machine parts from castings, forgings, fabricated parts, and bar stock.
Uses various types of precision measuring instruments and gaging to verify and document inspections.
Performs all necessary tasks required to complete the process.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum of one-year work experience in a manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or equivalent. This position requires the ability to interpret engineering prints and job notes, perform a variety of machining operations to close and interrelated tolerances, repetitively loads and unloads parts into machine(s), inspects and documents tolerances from engineering prints throughout entire part run, thoroughly cleans and deburrs parts according to Urschel specification, and performs any other necessary task to complete the manufacturing process. Physical demands include continuous durations of standing, with frequent durations of walking, wrist movement, forearm rotation, and use of vibratory tools.
