Job Purpose
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, material consumption analyses, and commercial proposals for precast concrete projects.
Review architectural and structural drawings to determine requirements for precast elements, concrete, reinforcement steel, formwork, and associated civil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Compute quantities for precast structural elements, concrete, rebar, formwork, and embedded parts from architectural and structural drawings.
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities and Material Take-Offs.
- Perform basic precast structural calculations and reinforcement detailing checks.
- Calculate project and product costs, including materials, production labor, logistics, and site installation.
- Review client drawings, identify discrepancies or missing details, and send Requests for Information when needed.
- Conduct value engineering and material consumption analysis to reduce wastage.
- Suggest cost-effective design or material alternatives.
- Coordinate with factory production, structural detailing, and site erection teams.
- Assist with preliminary structural and product layout drawings using AutoCAD.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, such as B.E. or B.Tech, is required.
