About the Role
Powertech Labs is hiring up to two Study Engineers to join its power system study team.
The Engineering Service Business Unit develops power system software and delivers consulting studies and compliance testing for electric utilities and power industry clients.
The team uses DSATools for dynamic security assessment and provides planning, operational, stability, interconnection, modeling, disturbance investigation, and NERC compliance services.
Responsibilities
- Perform power flow, short-circuit, contingency, transfer, and stability studies.
- Conduct bulk power system studies with industry-standard software.
- Use PSS/E, DSATools, PSCAD, and related tools for advanced studies.
- Support generation, load, transmission, and transformer model development.
- Develop system upgrade strategies and mitigation plans for reliability issues.
- Prepare technical study and model validation reports.
- Present study results to clients and assist with proposal scopes.
- Participate in new software release development and testing.
