Power Electronics Hardware Engineer

Role overview

Essential responsibilities

• Perform sizing, hardware design, loss-budget calculations, filter design, and protection-circuit design.
• Use calculations, modeling, and simulations to realize product and project requirements.
• Design equipment for reliability, applicable testing standards, manufacturability, material constraints, and cost guidelines.
• Prepare and validate configurations, operating principles, application guidelines, specifications, BOMs, SLDs, and drawings.
• Verify prototype hardware under all specified operating conditions.
• Support manufacturing at factory and vendor facilities.
• Document functional test requirements and conduct UL/IEC testing and project factory acceptance tests.
• Coordinate execution with the lead engineer and team manager.
• Travel as required to commission engineered projects.

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in power electronics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 3–8 years of power electronics design and testing experience for industrial drives and related components.
