Summary of Position
The Pouch Operator sets up and operates pouch-making machines that convert laminated films into pouches meeting or exceeding customer quality specifications.
The position requires shift flexibility.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Comply with quality, operational, human resources, and safety procedures and complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Meet prescribed standards for line speeds, scrap, and setup times.
- Report machine maintenance needs to engineering using written work orders and report unsafe conditions to production supervision.
- Read job specifications and previous run data to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- Set stops or guides to specified lengths, complete changeovers, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Observe machine operation, correct defects or malfunctions, measure dimensions, and perform required product quality tests.
- Perform minor maintenance such as changing zipper cloth, dies, seal bars, punches, rolls, and splices.
- Work with assistant operators to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished boxes.
