Post Substation Project Manager

Hatzel & Buehler is seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager to oversee electrical substation construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing medium- and high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.

This position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate with customers, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.

• Manage multiple substation construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and manpower plans.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Lead project kickoff meetings and regular progress meetings with customers and project teams.
• Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders.
• Monitor project costs and maintain profitability.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and equipment procurement.
• Coordinate material deliveries and long-lead equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all OSHA, company safety policies, and customer requirements.
• Work closely with field supervision to resolve technical and construction issues.
• Track project progress and provide regular financial and operational reporting.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Support estimating efforts and preconstruction activities as needed.
• Ensure timely project closeout, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and final documentation.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
