Company Description

  • SAFEEN Invictus Limited is a UAE based dry bulk shipping and charter operating company.
  • It is a joint venture between AD Ports Group and Invictus Investment Company PLC.
  • The company manages a fleet of Handysize to Kamsarmax bulk carriers and operates globally.

Role Description

  • Drive operational excellence ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution of dry bulk voyages.
  • Provide proactive operational oversight for assigned vessels.
  • End to end voyage planning, operational coordination, and strict compliance with charter party terms.
  • Maximize voyage profitability while maintaining safety and service standards.

Core Responsibilities

  • Be proactive and responsible for assigned vessel(s) and ensure performance per Charter Party.
  • Serve as first point of contact 24x7 for daily operations.
  • Plan voyage efficiently and discuss key features with Manager.
  • Issue Voyage Instructions, appoint agents, arrange weather routing.
  • Check and review bunker requirements.
  • Execute all operational and administrative matters.
  • Review and approve stowage plans.

Operational Finance Responsibilities

  • Maintain Vessel Operations Electronic File for each vessel.
  • Handle all receivables and payables (Freight or Charter Hire).
  • Check and finalize agency disbursement accounts.
  • Provide laytime calculations upon completion of loading/discharge.
  • Maintain payment records, laytime records, fixture list, bunker book, cargo book, CP logs.
  • Maintain updated Vessel Voyage Accounts Profit and Loss Record.

Strategic Coordination

  • Inform Manager of any cargo claims or disputes.
  • Initiate and report issues of concern to Manager.
  • Carry out any other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Commerce or Science.
  • 4+ years of experience in the Marine Industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Dry Bulk Shipping Sector.
  • Possess problem solving and decision making skills.

Competencies

  • Proven experience in dry bulk chartering of an international shipping company.
  • Excellent knowledge of Maritime Economics, Shipping Law, Dry Bulk Charter Parties, and operations.
  • Understand key principles and be fully proficient in laytime calculations.
