Role Overview

Wood is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to manage controls across a portfolio of projects for high-profile energy-sector clients.

The role covers cost, schedule, business planning, reporting, information management, contracts, procurement, organization, and staffing.

Project Controls Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce Project Services and Controls procedures and processes.
  • Lead business planning, budget preparation, project assessments, and performance reviews.
  • Direct daily, weekly, and monthly project reporting and presentations.
  • Lead project risk management and maintain the issues and risk register.
  • Provide cost and schedule information and assess the impact of project changes.
  • Ensure project controls activities meet company guidelines, contract requirements, and client objectives.

Financial and Commercial Controls

  • Direct project financial reporting, accrual reports, cash calls, reconciliations, invoicing reviews, and accounting activities.
  • Prepare fixed asset registers for the project scope.
  • Direct tender and procurement activities through tender evaluation and award.
  • Provide support on contract administration matters and manage required work order processes.
  • Secure non-EPC contracts required for project execution and commissioning.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, quality, SHE&S, project management, and reporting teams.
  • Brief project team members on project services requirements and processes, with emphasis on safety.
  • Direct the project organizational plan and related staffing.
  • Mentor ADNOC staff in business activities.
  • Ensure contractors deliver information management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master's degree in Management or equivalent.
  • At least 20 years of oil and gas sector experience, including project controls management on large projects.
  • Experience working with contractors and suppliers and managing related interfaces.

Professional Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions when resolving quality issues.
