At Barnhart, we specialize in transporting and positioning some of the largest and most complex loads in North America. As a Trailer Operator, you'll play a critical role in executing specialized transport projects, operating conventional and hydraulic trailers, and ensuring loads are moved safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

This role combines transportation operations, equipment expertise, logistics execution, and teamwork, making it ideal for someone who wants to be directly involved in moving critical loads from start to finish. In this role, you will:
Read and understand transport plans to safely and effectively execute assigned moves.
Assemble, configure, and prepare heavy haul and hydraulic trailer systems for transport operations.
Perform pre-operational inspections and regularly inspect equipment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Verify loads are properly secured and remain within equipment load limits before and during transportation.
Operate conventional and hydraulic platform trailers during simple and complex transport projects.
Pilot over-dimensional loads when required.
Participate in and contribute to toolbox talks and daily safety meetings.
Maintain a high level of awareness and concentration while operating equipment in dynamic environments.
Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and project personnel.
Perform minor mechanical repairs and troubleshooting as needed.
Support additional transportation and project-related activities as assigned.

Required:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
1-3 years of experience operating trailers and/or hydraulic platform trailers.
Strong commitment to safe equipment operation and transportation practices.
Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration in demanding environments.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Good judgment and the ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment repairs.
Time management and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license.
Previous heavy haul or specialized transportation experience.
Supervisory or crew leadership experience.
CSTS 2020 certification.
WHMIS 2015 certification.
CSO certification.
H2S Alive certification.
First Aid certification.
