Job Summary
The role builds scalable applications, microservices, and data-driven solutions.
The engineer will design, develop, test, and operate cloud-native services supporting the OCI Deployment Platform.
The work contributes to distributed systems and analytics platforms that process cloud infrastructure data and provide insights to OCI customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications, microservices, and data-processing components.
- Contribute to distributed systems processing cloud resource, configuration, and relationship data.
- Write secure, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Build REST APIs, automated tests, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and improve system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver customer-focused capabilities.
- Participate in deployment and production support throughout the software development lifecycle.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least three years of software engineering experience developing and supporting production applications.
- Proficiency in Java, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
- Experience with microservices and REST-based applications.
- Understanding of scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and performance in distributed systems.
- Experience developing applications on OCI, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or another cloud platform.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Good-to-Have Qualifications
- A master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience with OCI services or other cloud infrastructure platforms.
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing, event-driven architectures, or streaming technologies.
- Experience with observability tools including logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
- Exposure to cloud inventory, configuration management, capacity planning, forecasting, or infrastructure analytics.
- Familiarity with AI- or machine-learning-enabled applications and recommendation systems.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and cloud security fundamentals.
