Platform Services Engineer - (m/f/d)

Role overview

Main tasks

• Implement firewall changes and handle incidents on platforms such as Palo Alto and Check Point.
• Roll out and manage the lifecycle of firewalls and other core network components in production.
• Streamline firewall configurations for regulatory compliance.
• Develop OT firewall and network infrastructure solutions and best practices with internal stakeholders.
• Support network projects and initiatives with IT/OT teams and vendors.
• Improve and automate firewall and network monitoring and operations.
• Evaluate emerging firewall and network technologies through validation and testing.
• Track OT security regulations and apply relevant insights to product and service development.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or above in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunications, or an equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in firewall administration, network security operations, and network engineering in the OT or industrial sector.

Technical and professional knowledge

• Experience at the interface between IT and OT, ideally involving Cisco, Palo Alto, Check Point, Tufin, or global integrators.
• Strong knowledge of OT network protocols, devices, systems, and cybersecurity protection practices.
• Experience defining firewall and network infrastructure standards for IT/OT integration.
• Knowledge of Python, API integration, software-defined networking, and cloud networking.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in OT or industrial-sector project environments.
• Training or certification from at least one major firewall brand is advantageous.
• Further certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or PMP are preferred.
• Initial experience with OT asset management is advantageous.
