Plant Operator

Candidate will be expected to operate equipment with a high degree of competence, skill and proficiency.

Performs start-up and shutdown procedures and monitors feed and materials flow and equipment settings throughout assigned responsibility area paying special attention to monitoring equipment and making adjustments as required to maximize production and to provide a quality product.

Essential Functions

• May be designated according to type of plant operated as Asphalt-Plant Operator (construction) or according to machine function as Crusher Operator (concrete prod.; construction).

• Operates processing plant and auxiliary units.

• Observes control panel gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.

• Maintains switch house equipment.

• Assists with plant inspections and repair and maintenance of plant equipment as required.

• Lubricates and may perform some repair work to crusher system.

• Performs housekeeping duties around crusher area, including shoveling. remove spilled aggregate material, etc.

• Performs other duties as assigned by supervision. Critical Competencies
