Job Summary
Lead and manage planning and project control activities for electrical, power transmission, distribution, substation, and infrastructure projects.
Develop project programmes, monitor progress, manage the planning team, identify delays, and support completion within approved timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning team, including Planning Engineers and Junior Planning Engineers, and ensure timely completion of planning deliverables.
- Develop, review, and maintain detailed baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Prepare WBS, activity sequencing, construction programmes, resource requirements, and project milestones.
- Develop schedules for electrical works including cable laying, installation, substations, transmission and distribution networks, testing, commissioning, and energization.
- Monitor actual progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, slippages, critical activities, and potential risks.
- Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, electrical engineers, site teams, procurement, commercial/QS, QA/QC, HSE, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and look-ahead schedules.
- Track manpower, materials, equipment, productivity, and work fronts against planned targets.
- Monitor procurement, delivery, cable pulling, installation, termination, jointing, testing, commissioning, inspections, approvals, and energization activities.
