About the Role
Global Projects Services (Saipem) is seeking a Piping & Layout Engineer for an offshore project in Qatar. The role involves performing technical tasks related to piping and layout design, verification, and coordination.

Responsibilities
- Perform technical tasks assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead related to design, verification or study activities
- Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and Draftsman
- Coordinate technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements
- Analyse technical documents to assess scope and potential risks
- Check all produced documents like design reports, technical specifications, drawings
- Write Piping and Layout methodologies / Design Premises
- Organize the work of the team under responsibility
- Monitor and report actual progress including 3D / check for Discipline activities
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities

- Experience in piping and layout engineering for offshore projects

- Knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements

Mission
- Perform technical tasks assigned by the Piping and Layout Lead, related with design, verification or study activities
- Interface with other Project Specialists, Designers and Draftsman
- Co ordinate technical activities performed inside or outside Saipem
Tasks
- Execute the activities within own area of responsibility, ensuring the compliance with the QA/QC and HSE requirements
- Ensure the Piping and Layout engineering support to different projects
- Ensure the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfilment of project quality requirements and contractual obligations
- Analyse technical documents (e.g. specifications, calculation notes, drawings) to assess the scope of the studies required and the potential risks
- Seek solutions which can bring overall savings to the project
- Estimate quantities or validate estimation done by other specialist of the team
- Check all produced documents (internal or subcontracted) like design reports, technical specifications, drawings under responsibility
- Write the Piping and Layout methodologies / Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary data, general and specific design guidelines
- Organize the work of the team under responsibility
- Define and follow up the planning of resources mobilization
- Monitor and report actual progress including 3D / check for Discipline activities, including control of men hours and delivered documents
- Control the input data for team activities and check/review all documents issued by the team
Additional Tasks
- Attend to internal review activities and inter discipline check meetings
- Provide technical support to Project group
- Provide technical support to Procurement, Subcontracting and Construction activities included in the scope of work
- Supervise the writing of specifications and requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations
- Inform on a permanent basis the Project Piping and Layout leader of any foreseen technical or financial or delay risk
- Feed the Piping and Layout Department improvement system by reverting the lessons learned during the project
- Participate to test circuit verification
- Field engineering during construction activities
- Assist, when necessary, engineering adjustment on site
- Material management at site
