Leads piping layout and installation with complex geometry, including offsets and fabricated supports.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Leads small teams or assists foremen in managing tasks and priorities.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Interpret complex blueprints and layout drawings.
- Plan and install advanced piping systems.
- Perform pipe preparation techniques (beveling, threading, grooving).
- Verify system alignment and perform pressure testing.
- Ensure code compliance and safety procedures.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Blueprint Reading – reading and interpreting isometric drawings and P&IDs.
- Pipe Materials – identifying characteristics of steel, copper, PVC, CPVC, and other piping.
- Pipe Fabrication Techniques – cutting, threading, and joining techniques for various pipe types.
- Hangers, Supports, and Anchors – installing and positioning components to support piping systems.
- Valves and Fittings – identifying , installing, and maintaining different valve types and fittings.
- Rigging Practices – safe lifting and hoisting of pipe using slings and hardware.
- Material Takeoffs – interpreting drawings to calculate material and labor needs.
- Strong math and geometric calculation skills.
