GEMS Royal Dubai School is a premium British curriculum school serving students from FS1 to Year 9 and expanding its secondary phase.

The school has over 870 students from more than 48 nationalities and is opening a purpose-built secondary campus.

Role Purpose

Deliver excellent Physics teaching that inspires curiosity, develops scientific knowledge and enquiry skills, and secures strong student progress.

Contribute to the development of Physics across the growing secondary phase and support the school’s strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Physics lessons aligned with the NCfE, developing scientific understanding, practical skills, enquiry and problem-solving.
  • Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour and participation while creating a safe, inclusive and purposeful learning environment.
  • Use assessment and feedback to adapt teaching, track progress and implement timely intervention.
  • Contribute to Science curriculum planning, practical resourcing, assessment and moderation.
  • Prepare for future GCSE Combined Science and Physics pathways as the secondary phase grows.
  • Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and families and communicate progress clearly.
  • Support pastoral responsibilities, enrichment, extracurricular activities and community events.
  • Engage in professional learning, coaching, appraisal and quality assurance.
  • Safeguard student welfare and follow school policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the role as directed by the principal.

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised teaching qualification and degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of the NCfE and experience teaching GCSE and A level Physics.
  • Proven record of securing strong student outcomes.
  • Excellent classroom practice, behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Ambition, adaptability and a collaborative mindset for contributing to a growing secondary school.
