Role Overview

What the job entails (overview)

The Pharmacy Assistant position reports to the Pharmacy manager and assists with the technical aspects of dispensing prescriptions & administrative duties to increase the Pharmacist's opportunity to provide patient care.
Patient Care & Customer service
Follow the customer care and service standards of the Calgary Co-op.
Interact with customers and employees in a positive manner to enhance customer services and create a healthy work environment.
Pharmacy operations
Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department within the guidelines of the Alberta Pharmaceutical Association, as well as the policies and procedures of the Calgary Co-op.
Utilize a high degree of concentration when assisting in the filling of prescriptions, this requires attentiveness to detail and accuracy.
Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions
Help in the management of dispensary inventories, through the ordering, receiving and rotating of stock and supplies, returning outdated and unsaleable product, and assisting in the inventory count.
