Inpatient Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities

• Independently review physicians’ medication orders to ensure accuracy of
• dose, frequency, duration, and appropriateness
• prior to dispensing.
• Intervene and communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and resolve issues related to
• drug–drug/food interactions, allergies, contraindications, or dosing errors
• .
• Participate in
• multidisciplinary clinical rounds
• and review patient medical files to optimize medication therapy outcomes.
• Perform
• dose adjustments
• for patients with
• renal impairment, hepatic dysfunction, and pediatric populations

• Dispense
• controlled and semi‑controlled medications

• Compound
• sterile and non‑sterile pharmaceutical preparations

• Provide
• medication counseling
• to patients and respond to medication‑related inquiries from physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise and support
• pharmacy technicians and support staff
• to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Ensure proper
• handling, storage, and labeling
• of medications, including
• high‑alert, LASA medications, and concentrated electrolytes
• .
• Maintain pharmacy inventory by monitoring stock levels, reporting shortages, and reducing wastage by prioritizing
• near‑expiry medications

• Prepare and maintain
• ward/floor stock medications
• and distribute them to inpatient units as required.
• Participate in
• monthly inspections
• of medication rooms, nursing cabinets, and crash carts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Pharmacy
• **Valid DOH (HAAD) Pharmacist License – Abu Dhabi**
• Minimum
• 2 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist
• **Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience**

• Strong knowledge of
