Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- At least 15 years experience in an Electrical Power Utility or Company as an Electrical Engineer in Transmission Network
- 10 years experience in PD measurement (TEV, Ultrasonic, Cable PD, VLF, HV test, TDR, CVD)
- Sound knowledge of Transmission Substations equipment
- Sound knowledge of online continuous monitoring and offline testing systems
- Certification from PD Technology providers/OEM for PD Monitoring systems

Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
- Very well versed in Power Transmission System, MV switchgears, cables, Power Transformers, Earthing/Auxiliary transformers
Minimum Experience
- At least 15 years experience in an Electrical Power Utility or Company as an Electrical Engineer in Transmission Network
- 10 years experience in PD measurement (TEV, Ultrasonic, Cable PD, VLF, HV test, TDR, CVD)
- Sound technical knowledge of Transmission Substations equipment
- Sound knowledge of PD activity types (internal discharge, surface discharge, floating/arcing, cable insulation, etc.)
- Sound knowledge of online continuous monitoring and offline testing systems
- Sound knowledge of Condition Monitoring techniques in PD measurement
- Certified in all types of instruments for spot/continuous/CVD/offline PD monitoring
- Ability to independently evaluate health of Transmission Substation equipment
- Conversant with safety aspects of high voltage installations
- Sound knowledge of international standards, localization, diagnosis, and distinguishing genuine PD from noise
Responsibilities
- Receive and evaluate all technical inputs/reports from the field team
- Effective usage of Condition Monitoring software and Asset Management Decision Support System
- Prepare final analysis reports as per client specifications
- Provide technical solutions to PD related issues
- Check accuracy and correctness of data
- Attend progress meetings and conduct presentations
- Facilitate smooth administration of the project
- Complete all works within agreed time
- Carry out works in accordance with Project Technical Requirements
- Obtain authorization for Safety documents (LOA, Cold and Hot PTW)
- Attend site during offline PD, HV testing, ground fault monitoring
- Supervise subordinates work

- Educational Qualification details
- Elaborate experience in online/offline continuous monitoring/testing systems, localization and diagnosis (TEV, Ultrasonic, HFCT, CVD PD, HV testing, VLF PD Measurements)
- Elaborate experience in Electrical Power Transmission Networks
- Experience in all aspects of safety with high voltage equipment
- Certification issued by PD Technology providers/OEM for PD Monitoring systems
- List of different types of PD instruments, kits, accessories and sensors used
- Average number of PD analysis reports prepared per year
- Cases where real PD have been identified, localized, distinguished from noise
- Name of utilities/companies where PD measurement analysis has been carried out
- List of hands on experience on different PD measurement techniques (conventional & non conventional)
- Average number of medium voltage PD measurements carried out per year
- List of PD training attended including year of certification
Working Hours
- The PD Technical Expert should be prepared to work beyond normal working time if required due to exigencies
