About the Role
Scripps Health seeks a self-motivated Patient Care Assistant for the Medical Acute 2 South unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. You will assist patients with daily activities, perform vital signs and EKGs, and support the clinical care team.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal needs and activities of daily living
- Collect data and ensure the patient has a safe, organized environment
- Assist with patient care within scope permitted and under direction of a clinician
- Support the unit with patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties
Requirements
- One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of second semester including nursing fundamentals
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider

Overview
- Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978.
- This is a benefit eligible, full time position (72 hours every two weeks), working 12 hour day shifts (6:30am 7:00pm) on various days.
General Duties
- Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
- Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
- Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
- Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills
- One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider
Preferred Qualifications
- CNA certification
- Multiple patient care skills preferred
- Preferred one year acute care experience

Pay Range
- Position Pay Range: $25.48 $30.89/hour
