Responsibilities
- Perform procedural work for new patent and design filings, including preparing and filing applications
- Handle procedural work for Official Notices, including preparing reports and responses
- Manage invoice related work, including checking payment status and chasing payments
- Conduct patent searches, download documents, and screen target documents
- Check search reports and compile draft letters to clients
- Monitor deadlines and send annuity reminders
- Prepare cost estimates and quotes for clients
- Update and maintain Patricia reminders for own work and for patent attorney
Requirements
- LLB or Paralegal qualification is an advantage
- Patent experience is preferred
- Excellent spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
- Good communication skills
- Confident, proactive, motivated, detail oriented, self disciplined
- Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)

Role Overview
- Support patent attorneys in patent filing and prosecution work in the Middle East and other administrative tasks.
- Native Arabic speaking candidate with a patent background is preferred.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Procedural work for new patent and design filings: confirming instructions, opening matters, preparing and filing applications, preparing formality documents, monitoring deadlines, liaising with local agents.
- Procedural work for Official Notices: preparing reports and responses, monitoring deadlines, corresponding with clients.
- Invoice related work: checking payment status, monitoring client payment, chasing payment.
- Other procedural work: preparing routine late filing/rectification documents.
- Patent Search, download and preliminary screen.
- Checking results of search reports and compiling draft search report letters.
- Checking and reporting letters patent and design certificates.
- Monitoring deadlines and sending annuity reminders and attending to payment of annuities.
- Preparing cost estimates and quotes for clients.
- Updating/maintaining Patricia reminders for own work and for patent attorney.
Person Specification
- LLB / Paralegal qualification is an advantage.
- Patent experience is preferred.
- Excellent at spoken and written English. Arabic is an advantage.
- Good communication skills.
- Confident, proactive, motivated, strong sense of personal responsibility, patient, detail orientated and self disciplined.
- Excellent time management and can work under pressure, a team player.
- Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, etc).
