About the Role

  • The Pastry Chef supports the Head Pastry Chef in managing all aspects of the pastry section.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality desserts and baked goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in menu planning, stock control, and overseeing food preparation.
  • Supervise the pastry team to maintain smooth and efficient service.
  • Oversee daily pastry related operations, ensuring quality and consistency in all desserts, baked goods, guest amenities and other pastry related items.
  • Manage stock levels and coordinate with the Purchasing Department to ensure freshness and efficiency.
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development.
  • Focus on reducing waste, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability.
  • Ensure the pastry operation runs smoothly and meets guest expectations.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen.
  • Adhere to hygiene regulations and ensure equipment is properly maintained.

About You

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Pastry kitchen and have a passion to grow.
  • Experience in luxury hotels or fine dining environments is a plus.
  • Can work part time, between 15 20 hours per week and are able to work in a dynamic, 24 hour operation.
