Part Time Science Teacher

Instruct students by lecturing, demonstrating, and using audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.

Prepare course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of state and school.

Assign lessons and correct homework.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.

Administer testing to evaluate pupil progress, records results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.

Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Keep attendance records.

Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.

Meet with parents to discuss student progress and problems.

Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.

Perform related duties such as sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.

Plan and coordinate the work of associates and others in the classroom.

Keep principal informed of student issues or concerns.

Provide opportunities to incorporate 21st Century skills in the classroom setting.

Primary work setting is the Assigned Attendance Center but duties at times may require working within various attendance centers in the district or accompanying students to special events such as work experience or field trips.

May be required to ride a school bus or drive school vehicles to carry out responsibilities of the position.

May be required to work additional hours as required for special events or during certain times of the year.
