Responsibilities:
- Translate vehicle and customer needs into park system functional, durability, safety, and NVH requirements
- Define and maintain technical requirements for hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical components
- Lead root-cause analysis for field issues to deliver timely interim and permanent solutions.
- Lead design reviews, sign off on engineering drawings, and thoroughly review DFMEAs and DVP&Rs
- Collaborate within the COE to build and maintain technical infrastructure and the long-term technology roadmap
- Achieve high-quality engineering sign-offs with minimal redesign loops
- Minimize the time taken to identify, contain, and permanently fix field issues
- Deliver all DFMEA, DVP&R, and drawing approvals according to program timelines
- Promote intellectual property identification and development
- Coach, train and mentor less experienced engineers within team
- Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in park systems for internal combustion engine, battery electric vehicle applications
- Experience in design and release of the park by wire and park by cable components and systems
- Understanding of system engineering within automatic transmissions and electric drives
- Ability to author system/component level requirements
- Strong interpersonal communication and team leadership skills and comfortable with presenting to executive leadership teams
- Ability to travel to Stellantis assembly plants, supplier manufacturing facilities
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Working level experience with motor controls, communication protocols, sensors, software and functional safety
- Working experience with PCBs for actuators
- Greenbelt or Blackbelt DFSS verification
