As Paralegal, you'll provide dedicated support to the Legal team as it manages high-risk matters. You'll work closely with our legal counsels and external advisers, keeping complex, multi-workstream matters organised, accurate and on track.
Support document collection, review and production in response to regulatory requests
Track deadlines and logistics, keeping legal counsels ahead of key dates
Assist with litigation materials such as chronologies, briefs and evidence collation, and monitor court filing and hearing dates
Conduct legal and factual research, and help prepare briefing notes and summaries for the legal team and executives

This newly created 12 month Maximum Term Contract role puts you right at the centre of how HESTA manages some of its most complex regulatory and legal challenges, working alongside legal counsels on live matters which will help shape outcomes for HESTA. You’ll continue to build your hands-on skills in document production, e-discovery and legal research, all while learning directly from experienced lawyers.

You're highly organised with great attention to detail, comfortable managing multiple deadlines under pressure, and confident handling confidential information with discretion. You bring a genuine interest in regulatory and litigation work, and you're keen to build your career in an in-house legal environment.
Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, ideally in a regulatory investigations, litigation or disputes context
Experience with document review, management or production, including e-discovery platforms or document management systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting or proofreading legal documents and correspondence
A relevant tertiary qualification (Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business or related) or equivalent practical experience; a law degree is not required
