Role Summary
Al Badail Metal Industries W.L.L is seeking a highly experienced Painting Inspector with CSWIP BGAS Grade 2 certification to support a major QatarEnergy structural steel fabrication and coating project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all surface preparation, painting, and coating activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and client quality requirements.
Success in this role means maintaining high-quality coating inspection standards, ensuring timely inspections and documentation, and supporting smooth project execution with zero quality deviations.
This role is a key part of the Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) team and works closely with production, coating applicators, and client representatives to ensure project compliance and delivery excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection of surface preparation, painting, and coating activities in accordance with project specifications and approved procedures.
- Verify environmental conditions before and during blasting and painting activities.
- Perform Dry Film Thickness (DFT), wet film thickness, surface profile, adhesion, and holiday testing as required.
- Ensure all coating materials are properly stored, mixed, and applied according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and daily activity documentation.
- Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, production teams, and client representatives during inspections and approvals.
- Identify non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy standards, safety regulations, and international coating standards.
• CSWIP BGAS Grade 2 Certification (Mandatory)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial painting/coating inspection
- Experience in structural steel fabrication and coating projects
- Familiarity with QatarEnergy or oil & gas industry standards is preferred
- Strong knowledge of blasting, painting, and coating inspection procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and inspection reports
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Immediate availability in Qatar is preferred
