Packing Machine Operator (3rd Shift)

Position Requirements

• · Math and reading skills
• · Able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve problems mechanically
• · Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time
• · Regular and reliable attendance

Scope

Key Responsibilities

• · Monitor machine operation to ensure the flow of daily production is consistent with the Shift Supervisor’s direction to control and improve:
• · Production yield and efficiency of the facility against standards
• · Adherence to SOPs
• · Employee ownership and understanding of product and process, and overall team building
• · Continuously take independent action, perform daily paperwork, and provide corrective action recommendations to the Shift Leader in the areas of:
• · Keep the machine and area clean and free of straps, plastic, and boxes throughout the shift and before the next shift arrives
• · Communicate with the area Lead to keep production flowing smoothly and to start up lines
• · Set up tape machines, box code daters, load weight machines, and metal detectors with correct information
• · Maintain accurate case counts for changeovers and set up packaging for changeovers
• · Check all areas of packaging for proper film, weight settings, casing, and skid loading throughout the day
• · Help with the setup of the next shift
• · Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety requirements and procedures
