The Packaging and Transportation Logistics Analyst will be responsible for developing the Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) section of the Logistics Plan.
This role focuses on ensuring that system components and spare parts are packaged, stored, and transported efficiently and safely, minimizing damage and optimizing delivery timelines.
The analyst will collaborate with internal teams, Shield AI, and subcontractors to collect data, assess requirements, and develop detailed PHS&T protocols that comply with ANSI GEIA-STD-0007 standards.
Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T)
- Develop comprehensive PHS&T documentation, covering all aspects of system component and spare part logistics .
- Ensure proper materials are identified and used for packaging to protect components during storage and transport.
- Create clear handling instructions to prevent damage and ensure safe operations .
- Optimize storage and transportation protocols to minimize delays and align with system requirements.
Data Collection And Analysis
- Work with Shield AI to gather existing PHS&T data and integrate it into the Logistics Plan.
- Assess current PHS&T processes and recommend improvements or adjustments based on government requirements.
- Analyze transportation methods and storage solutions to identify cost-effective and reliable options.
Subcontractor Coordination
- Identify and engage subcontractors as needed to conduct PHS&T assessments and provide specialized support.
- Coordinate with Shield AI and subcontractors to define the scope of work, establish authority, and ensure compensation agreements.
- Oversee subcontractor contributions to ensure alignment with project objectives and documentation standards.
Compliance And Quality Assurance
- Ensure all PHS&T deliverables adhere to ANSI GEIA-STD-0007 and other applicable government and industry standards.
- Review and validate all PHS&T protocols and documentation for accuracy, consistency, and usability.
Risk Management
- Identify risks related to packaging, handling, storage, and transportation processes and propose mitigation strategies.
- Monitor changes in system requirements or government recommendations and update PHS&T protocols as necessary.
Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates to program managers and stakeholders on the progress of PHS&T deliverables.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment between PHS&T documentation and overall logistics objectives .
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in packaging, transportation, or logistics planning, preferably in government or defense programs.
- Familiarity with ANSI GEIA-STD-0007 and other government standards for logistics documentation.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, handling procedures, and transportation methods for high-value or sensitive equipment .
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in logistics and documentation tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
- Experience coordinating with subcontractors and external stakeholders is a plus.
Work Environment And Conditions
This is a hybrid position, with occasional travel required to Shield AI facilities or other sites for data collection, subcontractor coordination, and reviews.
The role involves managing multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
