Job purpose:
Responsible for coordinating the daily packaging plan and pack crew in a safe and efficient manner. Enforces protocols and documentation as related to food safety. Follows supervisor’s instructions in adhering to standardized practices with emphasis on achieving required results.
Duties and responsibilities
- 1. Supervise pack crew in daily operations to ensure daily plan and goals are met, corrects errors and provides feedback when needed
- 2. Train and educate crew in operating procedures with emphasis on safety and food safety
- 3. Adhere to all current SOP’s, procedures, inspections, and quality requirements
- 4. Communicate with supervisor when irregularities with product or equipment occur
- 5. Create daily packaging plan under guidance of supervisor and make decisions as instructed
- 6. Ensure accurate record keeping of performed testing and recording charts are properly documented according to company and regulatory guidelines
- 7. Ensure pack crew maintains a safe, clean, organized work area and performs periodic sanitation as required
- 8. Report food safety and quality problems to Supervisor, the SQF Practitioner or directly to Senior Management.
