Role overview
Part-time remote Database Analyst role focused on managing and optimizing client databases to support data-driven decision-making.
The analyst will work independently across multiple client projects and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Database analysis and optimization
- Analyze database performance and identify data quality issues.
- Implement improvements to database structures and queries.
- Manage, monitor, and optimize database environments.
Data modeling and integrity
- Gather data requirements from internal teams and clients.
- Design logical and physical data models and maintain data integrity and security.
- Document database processes and create reports and dashboards.
Analysis and collaboration
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage priorities across multiple projects while working independently.
Qualifications
- Strong database and database administration foundation, including database management, monitoring, and optimization.
- Experience with database design, efficient schemas, data modeling, and data relationships.
- Proficiency with SQL and common database platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar.
- Knowledge of data security, backup, and recovery practices.
- Analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and independent project-management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Advantageous qualifications
- Experience with data visualization or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
Work arrangement
- The role is remote and part-time.
