What You'll Do

Safely operate overhead cranes and other material handling equipment to move steel plates, structural components, assemblies, and materials throughout the facility.

Position and stage materials to support fabrication, fitting, welding, and production activities.

Inspect cranes, rigging, lifting devices, and equipment before use to ensure safe operation.

Follow hand signals, radio communications, and verbal instructions from spotters, supervisors, and production personnel.

Assist with rigging loads and ensuring materials are properly secured before lifting or moving.

Maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and potential hazards while operating cranes.

Complete routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.

Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement activities as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

Minimum of one (1) year of overhead crane, industrial equipment, heavy equipment, or material handling experience preferred.

Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Basic knowledge of rigging practices, load control, and safe lifting procedures.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members, spotters, and supervisors.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights when required.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
  • Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces as needed.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, and stand throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and temperatures depending on the work area.
  • Ability to maintain focus and situational awareness in a busy production environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
