About the Role
Duke Health is seeking an Orthopaedic Technologist for the Orthopaedics Clinic in Morrisville, NC. The role involves fabricating and removing casts/splints, applying orthopaedic devices, and assisting physicians with procedures.

Responsibilities
- Adjustment and repair of braces, prosthetics, orthotics, and orthoses
- Application and removal of braces, prosthetics, orthotics, and orthoses
- Fabricating splints for various conditions
- Wound care, removal of wound closure materials, and application/removal of sterile and non sterile dressings
- Preparation and set up for specific types of traction, making adjustments as necessary
- Accurately taking and documenting necessary patient measurements and pertinent history
- Assisting the physician in the reduction of fractures and dislocations
- Assisting with aspirations and injections
- Assisting with development of appropriate educational materials using evidence based information
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Two years full time work experience in a hospital, clinic, office, or military setting, working directly in the treatment of orthopaedic patients
- Current certification as Orthopaedic Technologist Certified by NBCOT required (or obtain within 6 months)
- Graduate of an accredited Orthopaedic Technology program preferred
- Military corpsman with training in military orthopaedics preferred
