Responsible for defining, analyzing, and delivering end-to-end optical systems performance from FEC to FEC for advanced optical interconnect products.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing technical leadership role with responsibility for system architecture, modeling and simulation, specification development, validation, and product bring-up.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in DSP, optical devices, coherent optics, IMDD, and forward error correction, and works effectively across analog, SerDes, PIC, reliability, and firmware teams.
This role also requires hands-on lab work to validate performance, correlate simulation to measurement, and support debug.
• Own end-to-end optical link performance from FEC to FEC, including architecture, link budgets, impairments, margins, and compliance.
• Develop system-level models and simulations spanning optical, electrical, DSP, and FEC behavior across coherent and IMDD architectures.
• Define system requirements, interface definitions, and performance specifications for products, subsystems, and key building blocks.
• Lead cross-functional technical execution with analog, SerDes, PIC, reliability, firmware, packaging, and related engineering teams.
• Serve as a customer-facing technical leader in system reviews, performance discussions, and issue resolution.
• Work hands-on in the lab to support characterization, validation, correlation, debug, and product bring-up using optical and electrical test equipment.
• Mentor engineers across disciplines and contribute to systems engineering best practices.
