Role Overview
Refractory Operator position in the ladle and refractory section of a steelmaking plant.
The operator reports directly to the Supervisor, Refractory.
Operational Duties
- Carry out operational and refractory activities in compliance with loss control procedures.
- Assist the shift supervisor with operational and refractory workloads.
- Execute startup and shutdown activities as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain normal operating routines and execute activities planned by the shift supervisor.
- Follow guidelines and instructions issued by the unit superintendent.
Safety and Maintenance Coordination
- Comply with safety standards under the Loss Control Program.
- Perform housekeeping in the area before leaving the workplace.
- Identify and report equipment showing signs of abnormality to the shift supervisor.
- Prepare and secure areas or equipment before handover to maintenance for repair or preventive maintenance.
- Comply with ISO 9001 procedures and maintain awareness of applicable requirements.
