Operator – Physical & Back-to-Back TradingAbout the Role

FLEX Commodities is looking for an experienced Operator to join our trading operations team in Dubai.

The role will be responsible for the end-to-end operational execution of physical and back-to-back commodity trades, working closely with Traders, Finance, Trade Finance, Accounts, counterparties, suppliers, customers, inspectors and logistics/service providers.

We are looking for someone who understands the commercial urgency of a trading environment and can independently manage multiple transactions while maintaining strong control over documentation, contractual obligations and operational timelines.

• Manage the complete operational lifecycle of physical and back-to-back trades, from contract execution through delivery and final settlement.
• Coordinate physical movements of cargo, including shipment/delivery schedules, nominations, documentation, inspections and other operational requirements.
• Handle back-to-back transactions, ensuring alignment between purchase and sales contracts, delivery terms, quantities, specifications, documentation and payment terms.
• Review trade contracts and ensure operational execution is in line with agreed Incoterms, contractual terms, laycan/delivery windows and commercial requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Traders on deal execution, amendments, operational issues and changes affecting commercial exposure.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, terminals, agents, inspectors, surveyors, transporters and other relevant counterparties/service providers.
• Prepare, collect, verify and maintain trade and shipping documentation, including invoices, BDNs, certificates, bills of lading and other supporting documents as applicable.
• Monitor deliveries and ensure completed transactions and relevant supporting documentation are accurately and promptly updated in the company's systems.
• Coordinate with Accounts on payment terms, credit days, receivables/payables, LC/documentary requirements and transaction settlements.
• Track outstanding documents, deliveries, invoices and other operational actions and proactively follow up to ensure timely closure.
• Identify discrepancies between purchase and sales terms and escalate potential operational, financial or contractual risks before they impact the transaction.
