The primary focus is to safely and reliably operate and maintain the facility on a continuous basis.
The successful candidate will progress through the Process Operations progression program and achieve required certifications.

Perform all duties in accordance with job requirements of the assigned area.
Operate the unit safely, efficiently, and cost effectively with troubleshooting ability.
Adhere to all NOVA Chemicals safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
Monitor and operate process systems and associated equipment through DCS.
Review weekly schedules and Detailed Operating Instructions to support safe work permits.
Maintain effective communication with the shift team and review logs.
Prepare equipment for maintenance and issue Safe Work Permits.
Communicate schedule changes and operational impacts in a timely manner.
Monitor safety conditions, identify concerns, and take appropriate action.
Ensure procedures are followed and identify required updates.
Complete accurate Operations Log entries.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and proactively identify resource needs.

Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology (CPET) or equivalent technical school diploma with minimum 4th Class Operating Engineer certification (TSSA).
Ability to obtain 3rd Class TSSA Operating Engineer certification within 36 months.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
Demonstrated commitment to Responsible Care principles.
Proven ability to learn and apply new technical concepts effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
Effective communication skills.

Relocation will not be considered.
Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
Seven day (including weekends and holidays), twelve hour rotating days/nights schedule.
Work conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
Duties include standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, and climbing ladders.
Overtime and callouts required due to 24 hour plant operation.
Must be physically able to wear respiratory protective equipment.
Valid driver's license required.
