This position is accountable for establishing and executing manufacturing strategy, ensuring safety compliance, while providing leadership and direction in the daily operation.
Actively supports/drives lean/continuous improvement initiatives and responsible for leading Production teams.
Key role responsibilities
Assures a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions , . Ensuring compliance to all safety requirements.
Maintains compliance with site environmental permits as well as hazardous waste disposal.
Lead and manage all production resources to ensure the achievement of all committed Key Performances Indices (KPI’s).
Establish manufacturing strategy that supports overall strategic initiatives.
Define manufacturing improvement goals and supporting programs to reduce setup, improve productivity and quality, reduce manufacturing cycle time, lower conversion costs, minimize machine downtime and achieve on time delivery.
Implement cost reduction programs and reengineer existing processes to reduce the manufacturing cost of sales.
Develop and maintain a highly motivated workforce through training and employee development programs in each of the assigned areas of responsibility to elevate the skill level of employees, as well as provide flexibility in a multi-functional workforce environment.
Directly supervises, coaches and develops Production Supervisors in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws assuring a safe and productive environment.
Able to adjust work schedule to accommodate operational needs.
Foster a positive, respectful, and engaged workplace culture by promoting employee morale, recognition, teamwork, and open communication.

Experience in a Unionized environment is required. Experience participating in contract negotiations is considered an asset.
