Job Summary
The Operations Manager oversees all areas of the store and assists the Store Director.
The role supports a convenient, friendly, and clean shopping experience.
The manager leads and guides Service Specialists and provides training as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview, hire, train, develop, schedule, evaluate, reward, and discipline partners.
- Review sales, inventory, profit and loss, shrink, and labor data and report issues.
- Manage inventory, truck checks, unloading, product ordering, and related paperwork.
- Open and close the store and ensure operating procedures are followed.
- Inspect products for quality, food safety, and product-origin labeling compliance.
- Prepare deposits and change orders, balance tills, and follow tender policies.
- Verify pricing, identify process improvements, and maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
- Provide customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, resolving complaints, and helping with product selection.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery operations and cash registers is required.
- Basic knowledge of WFM, SAP reporting, AML regulations, and fuel station procedures is required.
- The role requires leadership, communication, multitasking, organization, prioritization, and time management.
- The role requires safe operation of pallet jacks, department equipment, and precision hand tools.
- The role requires flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Two or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education is required.
- TABC/LACT/AATC, Food Handler, Fuel Operator C, Manager Food Safety, AML, and HIPAA certifications are required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is generally performed in a retail store and requires standing or walking for extended periods.
- The role may require lifting objects up to 65 pounds, bending, kneeling, squatting, and operating store equipment.
- The environment may include cold, heat, wet or slippery conditions, outdoor temperatures, cleaning agents, and moderate noise.
