Role Overview
Operations Intern assists with learning and supporting the activities of the Key Cooperative location.
The role supports operations, customer service, agronomy activities, facility upkeep, inventory, and workplace safety.
Operations
- Assist with loading and unloading grain, fertilizer, chemicals, seed, and bagged or liquid feed.
- Assist with grain quality and elevator operations.
- Assist with filling and delivering anhydrous ammonia, chemicals, and liquid or bagged feed.
- Assist with maintaining facilities and equipment.
- Operate or learn to operate forklifts, skid loaders, tenders, pickups, and trailers.
- Assist with transferring, counting, and calculating inventory.
- Assist with mixing and blending chemicals, fertilizer, and grain.
Customer Service and Agronomy
- Keep the location manager informed about operational, customer, vendor, or employee issues.
- Promote the business with existing and potential customers.
- Assist the Agronomy Sales Team with crop scouting, soil sampling, and tissue sampling programs.
- Develop and demonstrate good customer relation skills.
