Operations Engineer

We currently have a full-time opportunity for an experienced Operations Engineer to join our Health and Education team at The Royal Children’s Hospital.

Provide engineering support to the Spotless team at RCH in relation to maintenance and to manage key issues across complex, safety ‐ critical assets.

As part of the Operations team, the role will assume responsibility for the safe and efficient response to support maintenance operations including routine testing and compliance activities, Reactive maintenance (RM) and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for plant, equipment, and other facility systems/services.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Hours and Roster

Monday to Friday, with core hours between 6:30am and 4:30pm.

Standard shifts are 8 hours.

Participation in a rotating on-call roster is required.

Tertiary Qualification with Technical or Engineering background

Occupational Health and Safety Construction Induction (White Card)

Current applicable Electrical licence

At least 3 years demonstrated facility management experience in the health sector.

Strong project management experience.

Demonstrated experience in strategic asset management.

in the delivery of service-based maintenance contracts ensuring building services is operating efficiently and effectively.

Demonstrated experience in critical thinking and problem solving.

Licenced Electrician highly regarded

Knowledge and experience of statutory obligations, Codes of practice and Building Code of Australia.

Highly effective planning, reporting and prioritising skills.

Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

Full understanding of OH&S regulations.

Comprehends and understands written and verbal communication.

Can understand and follow policies, procedures and instructions.

Demonstrates consistency in work; is reliable and dependable.

Meets the needs of customers and acts with customers in mind.

Makes improvements based on customer feedback.

Pays attention to small details, can methodically narrow in on detail and apply such detailed attention to work and outcomes
