The Opportunity
Orrcon Steel is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our team based in Unanderra. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
We’re looking for an organised and proactive Operations Support professional to help keep our manufacturing site running smoothly.
In this varied role, you’ll provide efficient coordination and administrative support across day-to-day manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with site leaders and operational teams, contributing to office administration, safety, training, quality, reliability and general business activities.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in producing accurate work and can confidently coordinate tasks through to completion.
This full-time permanent role, will see you working Monday – Friday across our day shift
What Will You Do?
Working within a collaborative team environment, your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting the daily operations and administration of the manufacturing site
Providing administrative assistance across office functions, HR, operations, training, reliability, health and safety, environment and quality
Coordinating stationery orders, authorised purchasing, filing and general office organisation
Maintaining accurate documentation, records and document-control processes
Keeping the site training database and competency matrix up to date
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders in a professional, accurate and timely manner
Supporting site environmental requirements, including relevant licences, permits and procedures
Demonstrating safe work practices and contributing to the site’s Zero Harm commitment
More About You
We’re looking for someone with:
Experience in office administration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience maintaining documents and records
Sound organisational and time-management skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely work
A proactive approach and the ability to coordinate tasks with minimal direction
A customer-focused and helpful communication style
The ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
Who you’ll work with
You’ll build relationships across the site, working with site managers, engineers, HR and HSE representatives, shift supervisors, coordinators and team leaders. You’ll also interact with external suppliers and site visitors.
