Requirements

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage confidential information, and collaborate across disciplines
- Experience with trauma informed practice, justice system involvement, or youth work is highly beneficial
- Relevant professional certification or degree in healthcare, social work, psychology, or a related discipline preferred

Role Description
- The Healthcare Specialist at 16 Yards will support the design and delivery of health informed services for young people experiencing social and justice related challenges.
- In this part time remote role, the specialist will review and refine training materials, provide healthcare perspectives for mentoring and service design, and advise on safe, trauma informed practices.
- Day to day tasks include collaborating with program leads and lived experience mentors, offering guidance on medical and mental health considerations, and contributing to policies and protocols that promote wellbeing.
- The Healthcare Specialist may also participate in virtual training sessions, support risk assessments, and help evaluate the health impact of our programs.
Qualifications
- Clinical and emergency care skills such as EMT experience and foundational knowledge of medicine.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain health concepts clearly to non clinical audiences.
- Experience in training or education, particularly in health, wellbeing, or safety related topics.
- Background in healthcare, public health, or a related field, with an understanding of youth and community health challenges.
