About the Role
Southwest Airlines is seeking an Operations Agent to support ground operations at San Diego International Airport (SAN). You will coordinate boarding, weight and balance, and ramp activities to ensure on-time departures.

Responsibilities
- Provide friendly service to internal and external customers
- Coordinate ramp, operations, provisioning, and aircraft servicing to ensure on time departures
- Handle station AMS and radio communications
- Prepare weight and balance forms and dispatch release forms
- Operate boarding bridge and coordinate boarding and deplaning
- Check baggage and cargo as needed
- Write irregularity reports and maintain flight paperwork
- Coordinate special services such as lavatory servicing and cabin grooming
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain a SIDA badge
- Valid state motor vehicle operator's license
- Ability to lift and move items up to 70 pounds
- Must be GSC qualified
- Successful completion of Operations Agent training program with 90% or greater average
- Two years of airline/military related work experience preferred

Job Description
- Southwest Airlines is looking for an Operations Agent at SAN to help flights take off safely and on time.
- You will assist customers with boarding, check flight details like weight and balance, and coordinate with airport teams.
- This role is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Responsibilities
- Provides friendly service to internal and external customers.
- Coordinates ramp, operations, provisioning, and aircraft servicing to ensure on time departures.
- Works in airport operation office, gate area, jetways, and air freight facilities.
- Handles station AMS and radio communications traffic.
- Coordinates loading and unloading of aircraft by monitoring ramp activities.
- Prepares dispatch release forms and collects weather reports.
- Prepares weight and balance forms.
- Operates boarding bridge, coordinates boarding and deplaning.
- Writes and submits irregularity reports.
- Performs duties of a Freight Agent as needed.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to work well with others as part of a team.
- Must be GSC qualified.
- Must comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
- Ability to read documents and follow instructions.
- Must successfully complete Operations Agent training program with 90% or greater average.
- Must be able to lift and move items of 70 pounds or more.
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Education & Experience
- No education requirement.
- Preferred: Two years of airline/military related work experience in ramp/operations/provisioning functions.
