It's data and research with impact you can see. In this role, you'll: Be working as part of a team delivering operational and strategic transport forecasting and traffic modelling solutions. This role will see you support the development, operation, review and continuous improvement of meso and micro transport models, undertake transport and traffic analysis, contribute to forecasting activities, and build your expertise across a range of modelling projects that inform future transport planning decisions. You will analyse, develop and improve transport models and forecasting capabilities in a complex and evolving transport planning environment, balancing technical rigour, quality assurance and stakeholder requirements to support project outcomes across Transport for NSW. About you Your analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly formed across transport planning, transport modelling, engineering, mathematics, data science or related fields will see you excel in developing and reviewing transport models, interpreting complex datasets, supporting forecasting activities and delivering clear, evidence-based insights for a range of stakeholders. You’re recognised as a collaborative and detail-oriented professional, skilled at analysing transport data, documenting modelling assumptions and translating technical findings for both technical and non-technical audiences, experienced in transport and traffic modelling principles, quality assurance processes and the use of modelling software such as Aimsun, SIDRA, VISSIM and/or Dynameq.
with Python scripting to support modelling and analytical activities will be highly regarded.
You will also bring: Knowledge of operational and strategic transport modelling concepts, methodologies and analysis techniques.
collecting, analysing and interpreting data to support model development and improvement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain modelling inputs, outputs, assumptions and limitations to diverse stakeholders.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in transport planning, engineering, mathematics, data science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
The ability to attend the Macquarie Park office on Mondays and Tuesdays, with an additional half-day attendance at an office location of your choice.
