Role Overview
Operational Controller opportunity with the Strategic Highways Area 7 team in Newton-le-Willows, Warrington.
The role coordinates incident response across the strategic road network to support road user safety and network availability.
This is a fully site-based role in a fast-paced operational environment.
Hours of Work
- Works 12-hour shifts on a rotating pattern.
- The pattern includes four days on and four days off, followed by four nights on and four days off.
- Overtime opportunities are available.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinates Incident Response Teams and deploys crews to accidents, incidents, and emergencies.
- Manages defects reported by inspectors, police, and other stakeholders.
- Acts as a central communication point between operational teams and stakeholders.
- Supports operational handovers and manages resource deployment.
- Coordinates rolling road blocks and access arrangements where required.
- Records operational information accurately and supports a safe, responsive highways service.
