Senior OpenShift (OCP) Platform Engineer – L2 / L2.5

We are looking for a Senior OpenShift (OCP) Platform Engineer to manage the administration, engineering, and operational support of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in a private cloud environment.

This role is critical to ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and security of mission-critical payment applications.

You will work across container orchestration, virtualization, enterprise networking, and storage, supporting a highly regulated and high-transaction ecosystem.

Deploy and manage OCP clusters using IPI and UPI on VMware vSphere

Manage node lifecycle, VM templates, snapshots, and affinity rules

Perform capacity planning and scaling to handle growth and peak loads

Manage ETCD lifecycle (backup, restore, tuning, defragmentation)

Maintain health of API Server, Scheduler, Controllers, and cluster nodes

Troubleshoot performance issues and prevent outages

Configure and manage OVN-Kubernetes / OpenShift SDN

Implement Network Policies for micro-segmentation

Manage Ingress, Routes, and Services (ClusterIP, NodePort, LoadBalancer)

Troubleshoot VLANs, CIDR overlaps, and MTU issues

Integrate with F5 Load Balancers, DNS, and Firewalls

Configure and manage CSI drivers (vSAN / SAN / NAS)

Optimize storage for stateful workloads

Implement RBAC, SCC, and network security controls

Manage certificates and secrets lifecycle (Vault preferred)

Perform patching and upgrades (OCP & RHCOS) with minimal downtime

Build monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana

Automate using Ansible and ArgoCD (GitOps)

8–10 years in IT infrastructure

5+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes administration

Strong expertise in OCP 4.x, Operators, and CRDs

Hands-on with VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, HA, DRS)

Advanced networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, CIDR, DNS, L4/L7 LB)

Experience with vSAN, Fibre Channel, or iSCSI storage

Nice to Have

Experience in financial/payment systems environments

Exposure to DevSecOps and Vault

Work on mission-critical platforms with high impact

Exposure to enterprise-scale OpenShift and private cloud environments
