Role Overview
Build secure connections between the company's platform, partner banks, and third-party providers.
Develop microservices using mTLS and OAuth2 in line with local Open Banking standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend microservices exposing Open Banking APIs.
- Write production-grade code and maintain microservice documentation.
- Implement mTLS and OAuth2 for financial-grade API connections.
- Manage certificate lifecycles and token security.
- Monitor and resolve authentication failures.
- Integrate with banks and third-party providers under Open Banking standards.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and integration failures.
- Coordinate with partner technical teams.
- Write and run unit and integration tests.
- Verify security and data-sharing compliance before release.
- Support internal audits of integration security posture.
Experience and Background
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of backend development experience, including at least two years with Open Banking or financial-grade APIs.
- Production experience implementing mTLS and OAuth2 is required.
- Experience integrating with banks or third-party providers under a regulatory Open Banking framework.
Functional and Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Java, Node.js, Python, or .NET.
- Strong understanding of REST/JSON APIs and certificate-based authentication.
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to interpret partner API documentation and resolve mismatches independently.
- Experience with Git, Postman, API gateways such as Kong or Apigee, Jira, and Confluence.
Communication and Collaboration
- Very good English and Arabic.
- Careful and systematic approach to security-related tasks.
- Effective collaboration with product, compliance, and technical partner teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with the FAPI security profile.
Open Banking project experience in GCC, UK, or EU markets.
AWS or Azure certification.
Familiarity with ISO 20022.
Experience in a startup or scale-up environment where processes are still being built.
