About the Role
EcoMan Professional Training seeks an experienced technical trainer to deliver Operations training programs for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry. The role requires 8+ years of hands-on experience, including 3-5 years of teaching, and mandatory OPITO/SQA assessor certification.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and review technical courses, including content and instructional materials, for oil, gas, and petrochemical industry
- Ensure all instructional units meet awarding body requirements
- Design Operations training packages in required formats (e.g., PowerPoint, eLearning storyboards)
- Perform Operations training gap analyses to determine appropriate action plans
- Assess trainees on industrial techniques and practices in line with awarding body requirements
- Review training records and develop statistical records
- Report regularly on all aspects of Operations training programs
- Establish and maintain strong communication with stakeholders on testing, exam results, progress reports, etc.
- Encourage trainees to develop a positive attitude toward training and share their views
- Support trainees' learning and achievement, and develop innovative approaches to learning
- Assist in maintaining workshops, laboratories, and training plants
- Check functionality of tools and machinery, recommend spare part purchases, and request new items
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or Petroleum Engineering
- 8+ years of hands on experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry
- At least 3 5 years of teaching or technical training experience in a vocational context
- Approved Assessor Qualification from OPITO, SQA, or Ofqual (UK)
- Strong oil and gas process problem solving skills

About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced technical trainer to prepare, deliver, and continuously improve Operations training programs for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry, in line with awarding body standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, and review technical courses, including their content and instructional materials; recommend improvements and updates in line with the evolving knowledge base of the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.
- Ensure all instructional units meet awarding body requirements.
- Design Operations training packages in the required formats (e.g. PowerPoint, eLearning storyboards).
- Perform Operations training gap analyses to determine the appropriate action plans for achieving training goals.
- Assess trainees on industrial techniques and practices in line with awarding body requirements.
- Review training records (attendance sheets, evaluation and assessment reports, exam sheets, etc.) to develop statistical records.
- Report regularly on all aspects of Operations training programs.
- Establish and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders (Line Managers, Supervisors, Coordinators, etc.) on testing, exam results, progress reports, feedback, follow up, and monitoring.
- Encourage trainees to develop a positive attitude toward training and to share their views, experiences, learning expectations, and aspirations.
- Support trainees' learning and achievement, and develop innovative approaches to the learning and teaching experience.
- Assist in maintaining workshops, laboratories, and training plants.
- Check the functionality of tools and machinery, recommend spare part purchases, and request new items to ensure serviceability and safety.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process, or Petroleum Engineering.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 8+ years of hands on experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, including at least 3–5 years of teaching or technical training experience in a vocational context.
- Strong oil and gas process problem solving skills, with the ability to understand and resolve complex situations.
Professional Certifications (Mandatory)
- Approved Assessor Qualification from OPITO, SQA, or Ofqual (UK).
