About the Role
JNCL is seeking an OHS Engineer for luxury and high-rise projects in Abu Dhabi. You will implement and monitor the OHS management system, ensure compliance with ADOSH-SF and ALDAR requirements, and conduct site inspections.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) in accordance with ALDAR requirements, ADOSH SF, and ISO 45001:2018.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable UAE Federal regulations, Abu Dhabi requirements, and project contractual HSE obligations.
- Review and approve contractors' OHSE Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Emergency Response Plans, Traffic Management Plans, Lifting Plans, and other HSE documentation.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance assessments to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor high risk activities including work at height, lifting operations, tower cranes, formworks, excavation, piling, temporary works, scaffolding, confined space entry, hot works, electrical safety, and heavy equipment operations.
- Verify that Permit to Work (PTW) systems are properly implemented and adhered to for all hazardous activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, and non conformities, identify root causes, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
- Monitor contractors' HSE performance using leading and lagging KPIs and prepare weekly and monthly HSE performance reports.
- Facilitate HSE meetings, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness campaigns to promote a positive safety culture.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university.
- NEBOSH International Diploma (IDip), NVQ Level 6 (or higher), or an equivalent recognized Occupational Health & Safety qualification.
- Certified ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor.
- Successfully completed the ADOSH SF Practitioner Course.
- Registered as a Senior Occupational Health & Safety Practitioner under the applicable Abu Dhabi requirements.
- Minimum 12 years of comprehensive Occupational Health & Safety experience.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the UAE, preferably within Abu Dhabi.
- Proven experience working with Engineering Consultants and EPC Contractors.
- Extensive experience on large scale building construction and high rise building projects.

Position Summary
- The Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Engineer shall be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continually improving the Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) throughout all phases of the project.
- The role requires ensuring full compliance with the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System Framework (ADOSH SF), ALDAR HSE requirements, applicable UAE regulations, international standards, and project specific HSE procedures.
- The OHS Engineer shall work closely with the Client, Consultant, Contractor, and relevant authorities to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure that all construction activities are executed safely and in compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

- NEBOSH International Diploma (IDip), NVQ Level 6 (or higher), or an equivalent recognized Occupational Health & Safety qualification.

Experience
